Salvation Army committed to helping vulnerable children in Education

The Salvation Army of Zambia has pledged its commitment to helping vulnerable children in the country in the areas of health and education.

Salvation Army Territorial commander, Commissioner Margaret Siamoya tells Q-news that the church is currently conducting a program called child sponsorship were over 100 vulnerable children from across the country are being sponsored in education and training programs.

Ms Siamoya says only 5 percent of the children being sponsored belong to the Salvation Army with the rest being non members.

She has revealed that the Salvation Army this year retrieved 50 children from the streets of Lusaka who have since been housed and receiving education, counseling and skills training.

Ms Siamoya has noted the need for faith based organizations to work together in helping the vulnerable children in the country in the areas of education and health.
