The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) says government has failed to implement the austerity measures it came up with in the quest to sustain ballooning indebtedness to instill investor confidence.
JCTR Policy Analyst Innocent Ndashe says this can be seen from the huge delegations President Edgar Lungu has continued carrying along whenever he makes international trips.
In an interview with Q-news, Mr. Ndashe says the President should consider carrying along a few technocrats that will add value to the international trips he makes as opposed to carrying a huge delegation on tax payers’ account.
Mr. Ndashe is urging government to try to steer the country’s economy in a positive direction and attract foreign investment in 2019.
