Shimunza takes govt to task over power outages

Government has been challenged to be honest and admit whether or not there is a power deficit in the Country.

Movement for National Transformation (MNT) president Daniel Shimunza says government should come clean and explain why certain areas in the Country are experiencing power outages.

Mr. Shimunza says his party does not think it makes sense for government to insist that there is no load shedding when electricity supply in some areas has continued being erratic.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Shimunza states that government should appreciate that it is wrong to use propaganda against its own people in the governance of the Country.

Mr. Shimunza says party has actually observed that since 2011 the Patriotic Front government has allegedly thrived through deceptive politics.

He says this explains why Zambia has also escalated into being a post truth society with an entrenched culture of adversarial.

The MNT leader states that he also taken note that Zambia’s democratic credential of the rule of law and constitutionalism have equally remained autocratic since the PF came to power.

He claims that this is mainly because the PF government has not been telling the people of Zambia the truth.
