TIZ embarks on an online fight against corruption

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has launched an online initiative to facilitate the engagement of members of the public in the social movement against corruption in the country.

TIZ Executive Director Wesley Chibamba says the new system will enable people access information and report suspected corruption cases in real time.

Mr. Chibamba explains that through this platform, the people will get an opportunity to proactively and directly report incidents and experiences of bribery in key areas of TIZ’s thematic interests of civic engagement, among them health, education, local government and land.

Speaking during the launch of the advocacy and legal advice on corruption online reporting system, Mr. Chibamba says the system will also enable the public to report their suspicions on any person or government officials.

Mr. Chibamba states that the corruption online reporting system is meant to enhance the way the country is handling corruption cases.

he notes that corruption in Zambia has become more sophisticated.

And in keynote address, Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre Board Chairperson Dr. Annie Chewe has called on everyone to join the fight to end corruption which she says continues to ravage the nation.

And Anti-Corruption Commission Deputy Director General Rosemary Khuzwayo says the commission will continue partnering with stakeholders such as transparency international Zambia in its effort to ensure the fight against corruption is won.

Ms. Khuzwayo has since urged members of the public to take advantage of innovations such as the one launched by tiz to expose corruption cases in the country.
