Zambia’s stance on death penalty is positive sign – Burkart

German Ambassador to Zambia Achim Burkart has described as a positive sign Zambia’s stance on the death penalty.

Mr. Burkart says Germany has taken note of the announcement by the Zambian government that it will sign a moratorium on the execution of the death penalty.

He has told QTV News that the question of whether the government will go ahead to abolish the death penalty or not is for a further step in the future.

Mr. Burkart says Zambia has put itself on the side of the people by the step it has so far taken on the death penalty.
