Ganging up of opposition, sign PF has stronger candidate – Mundubile

The ruling PF says it considers the agitation that has arisen in the opposition following last Friday’s Constitutional Court ruling on President Lungu’s eligibility for the 2021 elections as positive feedback.

PF chairperson for legal affairs Brian Mundubile says the dissenting voices over the Court’s decision to clear President Edgar Lungu to stand in 2021 only shows that the ruling party has a stronger candidate.

Mr. Mundubile says this explains why opposition leaders have now ganged up notwithstanding their earlier claim that President Lungu will be the weakest candidate to beat in 2021.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Mundubile, who is also Northern Province Minister, says it is clear for anyone to see that the opposition is lost of what to use to campaign.

He says the opposition cannot capitalize on the ruling and accuse the Constitutional Court of having overstepped its jurisdiction if they had something to tell the people.

He says what the Constitutional Court ruling has done as far as the ruling PF is concerned is to bring about a settlement in the Country and inspire the people to have confidence in the Judiciary.

Mr Mundubile says the PF does not therefore think anyone should accuse the Constitutional Court of having any biasness towards it.
