Austerity measures are bearing fruit – Mwanakatwe

The league of African Development students has awarded Finance Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe with the 2018 leads merit award certificate.

The award is in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Africa’s development and meritorious service, being a proven authority in Africa’s finance development and public service space among other achievements.
Speaking when she received the award, Mrs Mwanakatwe has implored young people in africa to take greater interest in development matters and desist from wasting time on rumors and fake news.
Meanwhile Mrs. Mwanakatwe says the implementation of the economic stabilisation initiatives and growth program embarked on by government has resulted in achieving a level of stability in the fiscal position for the country.
She has named some of the initiatives as the removal of consumption subsidies, implementation of austerity measures and commitment to meeting debt obligations.

And presenting the award, leads africa head of advocacy Ochekwu Ocheche described the finance minister as a an impressive and exemplary professional in the African banking and finance development assignments.

And MR. Ocheche has conveyed his Organization’s condolences to family of the late university of Zambia student vespers Shimunzhila.
Mr. Ocheche has since implored stakeholders should ensure that dialogue is used as a means to resolve conflicts to avoid of loss of lives.
