Zambia benefiting from US$60 billion FOCAC pledge- Lungu

President Edgar LunguPresident Edgar Lungu says Zambia has started benefiting from the US$60 billion pledge by Chinese President Xi Jinping towards the successful implementation of the Forum for China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

President Lungu says this can be seen from a new set of projects being implemented in the country within the FOCAC framework.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of JIANGXI United Industrial Development Limited’s Multi Facility Economic Zone in Chibombo, President Lungu says the development is as a result of his visit to China where he attended the 2018 Forum for China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.

He has expressed gratitude to the provincial administration of Jiangxi province for facilitating the business forum in Jiangxi on the sidelines of the FOCAC, and ensuring that the commitment to invest by Jianxi United Industrial Development Limited is actualized.

President Lungu says government will continue to encourage the development of Multi Facility Economic Zones, Industrial Parks and Farm Blocks to foster industrialisation and value addition.

He has reiterated government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for business growth through continous implementation of business reforms.
