Over 1,000 women from 15 African countries gather in SA for dialogue

women in SAOver 1,000 women and girls from 15 African countries have gathered in Johannesburg South Africa to try and find solutions to current issues affecting them.

Africa Women in Dialogue, an international feminist and membership based organization committed to achieving gender equality,sustainable development and women’s rights has organized the forum under the theme: “ strengthening the continental African women’s movement within the fourth industrial revolution towards a new and value based eco-system”.

Q- News staffer Favourite Kalando has this report from Johannesburg, South Africa that speaking at the forum, United Nations women Executive Dr. Phumzile Mlambo-Ncuka called for gender balanced cabinets on the continent.

Dr Mlambo-Ncuka says it’s important to know that when women are talking about gender parity issues, they are talking about participation of women in decision-making because they have the characteristics.
