Mweetwa accuses Chitotela of threatening his life

vlcsnap-4296-09-01-20h24m07s400First deputy speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Namugala has reserved ruling on a point of order raised by upnd Choma Central Member of Parliament Cornelius Mweetwa on whether housing and infrastructure development minister Ronald Chitotela was in order to continue threatening his life.

Rising on a point of order, Mr. Mweetwa said he fears for his life and his family after receiving continuous death threats from Mr. Chitotela over the manner he conducts his debates in the house .

 Mr. Mweetwa has disclosed that he has been approached on two occasions by Mr. Chitotela warning him that he is risking his life over the manner he conducts his debates especially the last two debates he contributed to in the house.

 He says in his threats, Mr. Chitotela warned him to be careful with what he says during his debates and contributions while on the floor of the house as the country has well paid people trained to eliminate those appearing to be causing confusion and speaking against the government.

 Mr. Mweetwa says after ignoring the first threats and taking them as jokes, Mr. Chitotela yesterday went to other upnd members of parliament telling them that his debates are not good and that he had warned him about a wing tasked to eliminate people, but that he Mr. Mweetwa is not heeding the warning.

 And in her ruling, Ms Namugala reserved ruling to allow for the investigation of the allegations by Mr. Mweetwa against Mr. Chitotela.
