Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection, Dennis Wanchinga has assured the people of Western Province that government is determined to ensure they have access to clean and safe water.
Dr. Wanchinga was responding to a question UPND Kalabo central Member of Parliament Chinga Miyutu who wanted to know when the feasibility studies on the access to clean and safe water for the urban and peri-urban areas projects in western province will be completed.
He says government is doing all it can to ensure that citizens not only in Western Province, but across the country have access to clean and safe water.
Dr. Wanchinga says the feasibility studies on the access to clean and safe water for the urban and peri-urban areas projects in western province was completed in 2015 and detailed engineering designs have since been finalized.
He has told Parliament that the Ministry has since mobilized resources to finance the infrastructure works in the four Districts of western province namely, Mongu, Senanga, Sesheke and Kaoma.
