Bailiffs close four Church of God Zambia churches

Bailiffs on Monday swung into action closing four churches belonging to the Church of God Zambia.

Church of God Zambia National Director of Evangelism, Bishop Erick Mwewa has confirmed the development to QTV in an interview.

Bishop Mwewa says the development follows the leadership wrangles in the Church after they declared their intentions to break away from the Church of God World Missions.

He says the Church of God World Missions has been claiming ownership of the Church buildings which have since been closed by the bailiffs.

Bishop Mwewa says the development is shameful, adding that members of the church are now shunning church programmes for fear of being embarrassed.

He has since appealed to National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Reverend Godfridah Sumaili intervene in the matter.
