Govt projects to raise K13 million through Tourism Development Fund

Government has projected to raise about K13 million through the Tourism Development Fund against K11 million target by the end of 2018

The Tourism Development Fund is aimed at supporting tourism product development, tourism infrastructure and tourism marketing and enhancing the sector’s contribution to employment and wealth generation.

Tourism and arts minister, Charles Banda tells Q-news that K9.1 million had been raised as end of September 2018 through the tourism development fund.

Dr banda says an average of K3.3 million is being raised from the fund per month.

The Minster has since commended players in the tourism and hospitality sector for their compliance towards the tourism development fund.
