Chief Bunda Bunda the 10th of the Soli People of Rufunsa district has observed the need to promote girl child education in his chiefdom noting that the girl child is the cornerstone of sustainable development.
Speaking when he received a donation of assorted food stuffs from Support for Vulnerable Children and Active Leadership on behalf of about 121 beneficiaries, the traditional leader says he has acknowledged stakeholders working in his chiefdom as key in spearheading the noble agenda.
He says developmental projects are the only way that can generate the much needed resources to educate the girl child.
He has disclosed that he will soon come up with the Bunda Bunda Chiefdom Trust Account that will be used to educate the girl child.
Chief Bunda Bunda has since called on the business community to invest in his chiefdom in order to help spur development.
The traditional leader states that as long as the investors are ready to abide by terms and conditions, they are welcome to invest in his chiefdom.
And speaking when he handover the donation of food stuffs worth K25,000, SUVUCAL Founder, Eugene Machona says his organisation is committed to complementing government’s efforts in alleviating poverty.
Mr Machona says government alone cannot manage to reach out to all people in needy in the community, hence their resolve to empower the under privileged in the community.
