Wina praised for acknowledging increased poverty levels in rural areas

Vice president Inonge Wina has been praised for acknowledging that poverty in the rural areas is on the increase in the Country.

UPND Chairperson for Rural Development, Moono Mapani says he is happy and thankful that the Republican Vice President has finally agreed with his party’s observation.

Mr. Mapani however, states that it is not good enough for the Vice President to merely acknowledge a fact without providing solutions to the problem.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Mapani says he does not think that people in the rural area should be treated as second class citizens in manner government is allegedly treating them.

He believes that people in rural areas are not any different from those in the urban areas and therefore should not be classified.

Mr Mapani says government should take the same development it is bringing about in urban areas to rural areas.
