ZCID unmoved by church meeting on national dialogue

The Zambia Center for Inter party Dialogue (ZCID) says the outcome of today’s meeting by the three church mother bodies will not affect its national dialogue road map in anyway.

ZCID Spokesperson, Jackson Silavwe says the ZCID remains focused on how it will handle the dialogue process and is not following what the church mother bodies are doing.

JacksonMr. Silavwe adds that the ZCID has also not received any formal invitation from the church mother bodies to attend their meeting on national dialogue on Tuesday.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Silavwe says the center is, however, aware that some of its political party members have been invited to the meeting in their individual capacities.

Mr. Silavwe states that the ZCID finds this to be reminiscent of a divide and rule kind of tactics by the church.

He has wondered why the church mother bodies have opted to contact political parties individually when a collective body of political parties the ZCID had earlier called on the church on the issue of national dialogue.
