Leicester Helicopter crash-chairman’s family pays tribute

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was a family man and father-of-four.

His children are all involved in the King Power company.

Hundreds of people have been queuing up this morning to lay their flowers, soft toys and scarves, and the Srivaddhanaprabha family took time to look over them as they went to lay their own wreathes.

The Leicester City owner’s son Aiyawatt spoke in an interview in 2016 of how much the Premier Legaue win meant to the club and the Srivaddhanaprabha family:”Is it a miracle? It is. It is inspirational and people talk about it. We set the standard of the sport and inspiration for the whole world.”

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s son Aiyawatt and wife Aimon have been to lay flowers at King Power Stadium and the tributes continue to grow for the five people killed in the helicopter crash on Saturday evening.

The club owner’s daughter Voramas was also at the stadium to pay her respects.

Deepest condolences’ – Rooney

Former Everton and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has tweeted his condolences: “Thoughts with everyone at Leicester and deepest condolences are with the family & friends of those who have sadly lost their lives.”

  • Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha died alongside two members of his staff – Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare.
  • Pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz also died in the crash.
  • The crash happened shortly after take-off from the pitch,in a car park adjacent to the stadium.
  • Mr Vichai, 60, who was married and had four children, bought Leicester City for £39m in 2010.
