Govt lifts suspension on 2018 grades 7,9 & 12 exams

David MabumbaMinister of General Education David Mabumba has announced the lifting of the suspension on the 2018 examinations for grades 7,9 and 12.

The exams were suspended following the leakage of examination papers.

Speaking during a media briefing, Mr. Mabumba says examinations will resume on Wednesday 31st October and will run up to 30th November 2018.

He says grade 12 examinations will resume on 31st October to 30th November, while grade 7 examinations will run from 5th November to 9th November, with the grade examinations running from 2nd November to 26th november,2018.

Mr. Mabumba has also announced the nullification of the grade nine mathematics paper two examination that was genuinely written in about 248 schools after he announced the suspension of the exams.

He says investigations revealed that about 77 examination centers across the country tempered with the grade nine mathematics paper two which was supposed to be written on 23rd October.

Speaking at the same briefing, Home Affairs Minister Stephen kampyongo has warned that all culprits involved in the leakage of examination papers will be brought to book.

Mr. Kampyongo says the majority of the tempered examination papers were recorded in central and southern provinces.

He since advised provincial education officers to work with the police in curbing the leakage of examination papers.
