Magande pleads with KK to help reconcile Lungu & HH

vlcsnap-2018-10-23-19h21m18s147Former Finance Minister Ng’andu Magande has pleaded with first republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda to help defuse the political tension between President Edgar Lungu and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Magande is of the firm belief that Dr Kaunda can help reconcile the two leaders and find a solution to the political impasse in the country especially between the ruling PF and the opposition UPND.

He has noted with sadness that the kind of politics prevailing in the country currently is very different from the politics practiced during the time of the UNIP government and the opposition political parties then.

Mr. Magande has expressed concern with the manner the Police ejected Bahati Member of Parliament Harry Kalaba from Mwinilunga district where he had gone to pay his respects to late freedom fighter freedom Matoka.

Mr Magande was speaking when he visited the First republican president ahead of Zambia’s 54th independence anniversary and to present him with a copy of the book he has authored titled “the depth of my footprints”.

And in response, first republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda says he is sorry for the current happenings in the political arena especially between President Edgar Lungu and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.

Dr Kaunda, however, states that Zambians still have hope.

He has since urged Mr Magande and other politicians who have been in the political arena as way back as the 1960s to continue with their good virtues.
