476 were killed in 2018 third quarter road accidents

A total of 476 persons were killed in road traffic accidents recorded in the third quarter of 2018.

The Zambia Police recorded a total of 7,915 road traffic accidents out of which 394 were fatal.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says of the recorded road traffic accidents Lusaka Province had the highest number of 4,220 road traffic accidents.

In a statement to Q-News Ms. Katongo says Lusaka province was followed by Copperbelt Province which had 1,120 accidents.

Ms. Katongo says  Northern Province and Airports Division were the least with 131 and 34 road traffic accidents respectively.
