Law enforcement agencies have been urged to enforce the electoral code of conduct to the latter during ongoing campaigns for the Mangango parliamentary by-election.

Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) Executive Director Richwell Mulwani says his organization will monitor how the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will enforce this code.

Mr. Mulwani says AVAP expects the ECZ to disqualify any candidate or political party that will disrespect the electoral law.

In an interview with QTV News by telephone, Mr. Mulwani says the law is very clear that whichever political breaches the electoral law, such a party must be disqualified from participating in an election.

Mr. Mulwani states that his organization is therefore keen to see how the ECZ will enforce the electoral law during the Mangango parliamentary by-election.

He says AVAP further expects the Police to treat all political parties taking part in the Parliamentary by-election fairly and equally.
