Kangwa was good friend of mine – Mwanza

Veteran broadcaster and former Zambia’s Deputy Ambassador to the United States of America Ben Kangwa has died.

Mr. Kangwa, who is also former ZNBC Director of Programs, is reported to have two weeks ago collapsed after allegedly suffering what was suspected to be a stroke.

MWANZA-DG-ZNBC-1His condition is said to have then deteriorated while at Fairview Hospital where he was rushed before his passing away on Wednesday night at the University Teaching Hospital.

And ZNBC Director General  Richard Mwanza has described the late Mr. Kangwa as a very good friend of his who contributed greatly to the growth of the broadcasting industry in Zambia.

Mr. Mwanza has recalled in an interview with  QTV News by telephone that even after the late Mr. Kangwa left ZNBC, after working there for a period of 25 years, his friendship with him was not deterred.

He has disclosed that in his last personal conversation three weeks ago in Kitwe, the late Mr. Kangwa and him shared a lot about the status of broadcasting in Zambia.

Mr. Mwanza says ZNBC still has a lot of respect for the late Mr. Kangwa.
