Why is fuel in Zambia so ‘expensive’, Kalaba asks govt

Government has been challenged to explain to the nation why fuel in Zambia is too expensive than it is in any other Country in the region.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba is wondering why the price of pump fuel for an economy like Zambia can be more expensive than that of a Country like Zimbabwe.

vlcsnap-5885-01-03-19h35m36s781Mr. Kalaba says he is suspicious that there could be a huge problem in the procurement of crude oil in Zambia.

In an interview Mr. Kalaba, who is also PF Bahati Member of Parliament, has told Q-News that government needs to cut down on middlemen in the procurement of fuel for the Country.

Mr. Kalaba says it is wrong for government to continue subjecting people to more poverty by mismanaging the procurement processes for essential commodities such as fuel.

He states that politicians should be allowed anymore to subject people to harsh conditions where prices of goods and services become unnecessary too high owing to failure to govern the country properly.
