The Zambia Revenue Authority has registered over 700,000 taxpayers under the Taxpayer Identification Number (TPIN) since the inclusion of banking and financial institutions last year to date.

Last year, government made it mandatory for financial institutions registered under the banking and financial services act to ensure that all bank account holders obtain TPINs from ZRA.

And ZRA Corporate Affairs Manager Topys Sikalinda is pleased with the progressive.

Speaking to Q-tv news in an interview, Mr. Sikalinda is particularly happy that despite the myths that surrounded the TPIN registration exercise all is going on well.

He has attributed the success of the program so far to various sensitization programs they have been conducting across the country.

Mr. Sikalinda has since urged members of the public to take the TPIN registration exercise serious as it will be needed for various purposes.
