United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has reported economic and equity party (EEP) leader Chilufya Tayali to woodlands police station for criminal libel.
Mr. Hichilema says this is in view of his continued libelous statements in total defamation of his standing reputation both as an individual and president of the biggest political party in the country.
Mr. Hichilema has charged that for a long time now, Mr. Tayali has made unwarranted and unsubstantiated claims against him.
He says has been very tolerant of him despite the many defamatory statements he has made against him for simply taking a stand on things and his political beliefs.
The oppositition leader says Mr. Tayali has been publishing and uttering public statements to the effect that Mr. Hichilema is responsible for the death of Vespers Shimuzhila who died in a police operation at university of Zambia.
Mr. Hichilema says he expects the police to take action against Mr. Tayali without any delay, saying justice delayed is justice denied.
