UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani
United Party for National Development (UPND) Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani has observed the impact corruption is consigning those in rural areas to abject poverty.
Mr. Mapani has told QTV news that this is unfortunate because those in rural areas are already subjected to hardship.
And Mr. Mapani says this is also an indication that government is not serious about fighting corruption.
He says people living in rural areas are facing numerous problems of poor road network when money which should have been used to improve the state of the road is been misapplied.
Mr. Mapani says all this is due to implementation of uncoordinated government policies.
He has however regretted that the levels of corruption which have engulfed the patriotic front administration are alarming and need serious attention.
Mr. Mapani has since called on the government to heed to advice from stakeholders.
