President Edgar Lungu expected to undertake a three days state visit to Japan

President Edgar Lungu is in December expected to undertake a three days state visit to Japan.

Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji announced that President Lungu’s visit follows an invitation from Japanese Prime minister, Shinzo Abe.

Mr. Malanji disclosed this in Tokyo, Japan after a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Taro Kono on the on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) ministerial meeting.

And Mr. Malanji says government will continue engaging Japanese Government and investors in order to accelerate the country’s development agenda.

According to a statement made available to Q-news by First Secretary- Press Embassy of the Republic of Zambia, Tokyo, Japan, Yotamu Mugara, Mr. Malanji says government is equally using multilateral processes such as TICAD to realize foreign direct investment and other benefits for national development.

Mr. Malanji says Japan through the TICAD process has continued to offer African countries including Zambia developmental assistance and technical expertise in various sectors.

He adds that that is why Zambia considers Japan among the critical partners to the country’s national development.

Mr. Malanji says government has also thus far ensured that it puts in place legal frameworks, necessary infrastructure and creates a conducive environment to lure more investment in the country.
