Police find body of a missing person

Police in Chiengi district yesterday picked a body of Syden Chola aged 57 of Mwabu Village, Chief Puta in Chiengi District, who is said to have gone missing on 27th September, 2018 and later found dead.

Police Public Relations officer, Esther Katongo says brief information is that on 27th September, 2018 around 6 hours, the deceased went to his farm to collect some cassava but never returned.

She says this prompted his wife Agness Ntalasha aged 48, to search for him for almost one week but without trace.

She adds that on 5th October, 2018 around 9 hours his body was found in the bush hanging on a tree using a blue rope, approximately 70 meters from the deceased’s house.

It was found in a decomposed state by a member of public from Pilyashi Village, Chief Puta in Chengi district.

The deceased has since been buried and police have suspected no foul play.
