20% sub contraction policy adherence at KKIA ongoing construction works not impressive- Mushota

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development Permanent Secretary Charles Mushota says the 20 percent sub contraction policy adherence has not been impressive with regards to ongoing construction works at the Kenneth Kaunda International airport.

Mr Mushota has told Q news that the ministry has since instructed the main contractors to sub contract local contractors for all external works.

He has attributed this to the fact that most works at the site are very specialized.

Mr Mushota notes the need for technology and skills transfer to the Zambian workers who will be the ones to maintain the infrastructure.
