7,860 to benefit from Kataba electrification project in Nalolo

About 7,860 people are expected to benefit from the Kataba electrification project in Nalolo District of western province.

Under this project which is being implemented by Northlands Equipment, the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) will supply power to five schools and one village.

The project whose completion is scheduled for 3rd December 2018 is costing over US$8 million and will see the construction of a total of 23.5km of the 33KV overhead line from different tappings.

Speaking when he toured some of the ongoing projects in Nalolo,REA Chief Executive Officer Geoffrey Musonda disclosed that REA has contracted Suberth Investment limited to install wiring for structures covered under Kataba 2017 Grid extension projects.

Mr Musonda says 56 initial connections are expected to made at a total cost of over K652,000.
