National Restoration Party (NAREP) President Elias Chipimo says the 2019 national budget spells out hard times ahead for citizens.

Mr. Chipimo says Zambians should therefore brace themselves for more challenges.

In an interview with Q-news, Mr. Chipimo says the 2019 national budget does not offer anything new from what has been presented in the previous budgets.

Mr. Chipimo states that the abolition of the Value Added Tax (VAT) and replacing it with sales tax entails that the cost of commodities will go up.

He has further noted that the 2019 national budget contains nothing for the unemployed.

Mr. Chipimo adds that the 2019 national budget does not give hope to those paying taxes through PAYE.

Mr. Chipimo has since described the 2019 national budget as lackluster.
