Investment for KKIA and Ndola airport secure-Chitotela

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development Ronald Chitotela has assured Zambians that the investment government is putting into the modernization of the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and the construction of the new airport in Ndola is fully secure.

Speaking when he conducted a tour of construction works at KK international airport in Lusaka, Mr Chitotela says the airport is 100 percent owned by Zambians and that there is no foreign government that is trying to take it over.

He says contrary to reports by some sections of the media suggesting that the airport has been taken over by the Chinese government; the facility belongs to the Zambian people.

Mr Chitotela has since advised the media to be responsible in their reporting and avoid spreading false information that might bring chaos in the country.

Meanwhile the Minister is impressed with the works that have been done so far at the airport and has thanked the contractors for the good works.

Speaking earlier, Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) acting managing director Margeret Kaunda has revealed that three airlines namely Turkish airline; Air Zimbabwe and Tanzania airlines will start flying into the country owing to the infrastructure development at the airport.

And construction site manager Wang Liung says the construction works have progressed with works on the new hotel at the airport currently at 85 percent.
