Govt advised to increase funding to the manufacturing sector

Former MMD Kabwata Constituency Youth Chairman Leslie Chikuse

A governance activist Leslie Chikuse has noticed that despite government introducing various taxes, the delivery of public services still leaves much to be desired.

Mr. Chikuse has singled out the provision of water and sanitation services as being below par despite people being taxed heavily.

And Mr. Chikuse has told QTV News that service provision in most sectors is poor because  the taxes being collected are being channeled to debt servicing.

Meanwhile Mr. Chikuse is urging government to increase funding in the manufacturing sector towards industrialization that could help generate employment for the young people who join its labor force every year.

He has emphasized that government should invest in supporting local industries to boost their production and empower young people with job creation skills.
