Lusaka Deputy Mayor Chitangala Chilando
Lusaka Deputy Mayor Chilando Chitangala says the council is fully prepared ahead of the rainy season to avert any outbreak of diseases such as cholera.
Ms Chitangala has told Q news in an interview that the council has already began unblocking drainages in many areas.
She, however, says this should not be left to the council alone, stressing that it’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure their surroundings are kept clean.
She states that the outbreak of cholera in neighboring Zimbabwe should be a wakeup call for people to work together to clean the city.
Ms Chitangala says it’s everyone’s responsibility to take care of their surroundings.
She has since encouraged people to take part in the keep Lusaka clean campaign so that the city is kept clean at all times.
