Lungu’s speech to Parliament was progressive -Rogan

UN resident coordinator Janet Rogan says President Edgar Lungu’s speech during the official opening of the third session of the 12th national assembly was progressive.

roganMs. Rogan says she found it interesting to hear President Lungu inform the nation about where the Country is with regards various developmental projects in various sectors.

She says it is important for the nation to be given such a progressive reports for proper scrutiny.

Ms Rogan notes that the results brought out in the President’ speech on the Industrialization agenda and value addition in the agriculture sector, for example, are helpful for scrutinization.

And Ms. Rogan has expressed hope that Zambia’s 2019 national budget will focus on prioritizing needy areas and put in place measures that will sustain projects in needy areas.

She is also hopeful that the Members of Parliament will focus on scrutinizing budget proposals to ensure that the needy areas are prioritized and catered for.
