Government has been called upon to consider coming up with a Ministry that will specifically deal with the issue of industrialization and value addition in Zambia.
BuyZed campaign founder Evans Ngoma says his organization thinks that if the vision 2030 is going to be realized there is need for such a Ministry to be set up.
Mr. Ngoma says there is evidence already of how creation of similar Ministries such as that of Housing and Infrastructure Development have proved to be effective.
In an interview with QTV News Mr. Ngoma says BuyZed is therefore calling upon government to formulate a policy that will facilitate industrialization in the Country.
Mr. Ngoma states that it is also important for government to come up with deliberate measures that will restrict the tones of raw copper that can be exported out of Zambia.
He says his organization thinks that it is high time that the Country begun exporting other finished copper products other than electricity cables.
Mr. Ngoma notes that this is especially that there are many things that can be made from copper.
He says it is however incumbent upon government to attract investors to invest in industries for value addition in copper .
