Talk about China buying off Zambia is sickening – Lungu

vlcsnap-2018-09-15-19h35m21s462President Edgar Lungu says he is sickened by the talk about Zambia being bought off by China.

President Lungu says he is however not moved at all by the propaganda statements on China.

He has maintained that he will continue to work with China for the betterment of Zambia.

President Lungu says he does not understand why the whole China talk and the borrowing talk should persist when developed countries like America also borrow from China.

He states that Zambia will continue to borrow from China and if it happens that the Country’s capacity to pay back is impaired, then there will be talks to renegotiate the repayment plan and period.

The President has  also assured the nation that no parastatal is being sold to China.

The Head of State said this when he toured some parts of Lumumba, Mungwi, great north road and Ngwerere roads in Lusaka.

And President  Lungu says government is delivering on its promises as can be seen from the roads that have been constructed and are still under construction.

Meanwhile Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development Ronald Chitotela says the talk on some infrastructure in the country being sold off to China is politically motivated.

Mr. Chitotela notes that that Zambia only owes China about US$2.6 billion which is not equal to some infrastructure being alleged to have been sold off.
