The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has appointed Liuwa Member of Parliament Situmbeko Musokotwane as its new Chief Whip.
Dr. Musokotwane takes over from his Mazabuka counterpart Garry Nkombo who has voluntarily retired as parliamentary Chief Whip to take up the position of chair person for elections.
Announcing the changes at media briefing, UPND Secretary General Stephen Katuka thanked Mr. Nkombo for the diligent leadership he offered to the party during his reign.
Mr. Katuka says he is also hopeful that the new Chief Whip will deliver to his ability as Dr. Musokotwane has already performed to the satisfaction of the party in other roles.
Speaking at the same briefing Dr. Musokotwane promised to emulate the excellent works of his predecessor.
And Mr. Nkombo equally pledged support to Dr. Musokotwane.
