The Patriotic Front government has only fulfilled 25 percent of its 2016 campaign promises, a latest Action Aid Project has revealed.

The campaign tracker project has revealed that 34 percent of the campaign promises have been fulfilled while 41 percent have not yet been fulfilled.

Presenting the project findings during a validation meeting Action Aid consultant Lee Habasonda said the project which was launched in September 2017 and ran through to September 2018 demonstrated that there is a trend of political parties making pledges without an evaluation of what it takes to make those promises a reality by candidates.

Mr Habasonda has attributed the failure to start or complete some projects that were subject of campaign promises to the fact that PF has not yet completed their term of office.

He has also attributed the 41 percent failure to complete most projects to the introduced austerity measures to the economy .

Meanwhile Action Aid Country Director Nalucha Ziba says the campaign tracking project should not be considered as a witch hunting expedition.
