Lack of clear regulations hindering investments in Africa – González

International Trade Centre (ITC) Executive Director Arancha González says lack of clear government regulations is what hinders investments in African countries.

Ms. González says from the works the ITC has done in Africa on investment facilitations, investors have complained that there is lack of recommendations from governments on how to implement policies.

Speaking at a media breakfast meeting on facilitating Trade and Investment for Development, Ms. González expressed concern that unlocking African untapped potential investment  has not been put to good use as a consequence.

Ms. González states that every investor want simplified procedures and clear government guidelines.

She says this is in order to help them operate in line with governments’ mandate.
