Fake stories on Zambia’s debt must be disregard – Siliya

Chief government spokesperson Dora Siliya says the public must disregard with contempt fake stories about Zambia’s economic and debt position.

Ms. Siliya says stories in the Africa confidential Report suggesting that the Chinese government will take over Zambian assets such as ZESCO, Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and ZNBC are false.

She says such stories are only  a continued campaign by detracted individuals who keep making unsubstantiated statements on the economy on online media.

Ms. Siliya, who is also Information and Broadcasting Minister, has urged people in the Country to be patriotic and await government’s position on matters before perpetuating speculation.

She has insisted that a government has nothing to hide and that all information in public interest will be made available through appropriate channels.
