Chirundu Magistrate Court Edward Zephariah Banda has been admitted to Mtendere Hospital after he was involved in a road traffic accident.
Magistrate Banda 47, who is also resident magistrate of the Siavonga magistrate court, is reported to have suffered serious injuries in the accident which happened on the Lusaka Kapilingozi road.
Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo has confirmed in a statement to QTV news that the accident occurred when the motor vehicle Toyota Dyna developed faulty brakes whilst descending the hill in process hit into the Toyota Prado which was coming from the opposite direction and driven by magistrate Banda.
Mrs. Katongo has identified the driver of the Toyota Dyna as Kennedy Chilekwa, 32 years of Lusaka’s Linda compound.
She says Chilekwa is also admitted to Mtendere mission hospital nursing serious injuries.
