A 28 years old man has been murdered on suspicion of having an extra marital affair with another man’s wife in Kalomo District.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonnie Kapeso has confirmed in a statement that Japhet Chilindile of macraymond compound of Kalomo was killed on Saturday night.
Mr. Kapeso has told Q-News in a statement that this was after being hit with a steel bar by the woman’s husband around 21:00hrs.
He states that it is alleged that the two lovers were, on the said night, trailed by the woman’s husband as they were heading to a bush with the view of allegedly having sex.
Mr. Kapeso narrates that the husband had pretended to have gone out of town on a business trip for some days but came back the same day to investigate suspicions he had about his wife.
He says it was after the man caught up with the two in the said bush that he attacked his wife’s lover with a steel bar causing two deep cuts on his head.
Mr. Kapeso says the victim then later died in Kalomo District Hospital and that his body is now lying in the same hospital’s mortuary awaiting postmortem.
He notes that the attacker who has been identified as Gift Nambango aged 26, is however already in police custody and is likely to be charged with murder.
