The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) wants the church to publicize the road map on how it intends to facilitate and chair the long overdue Zambian National Dialogue.

FODEP Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe says a clear road map will end the noted bickering that has characterizes the pending dialogue process, following a decision to exclude the Zambia centre for interparty dialogue (ZCID)

According to a letter addressed to ZCID chairman Nathan Mulonga, the council of churches in Zambia (CCZ), Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) said the church will proceed to lead the national dialogue and reconciliation and not the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID).

But Mr. Chimfwembe is concerned that there is confusion concerning the elusive national dialogue

He has told Q-news in an interview in Lusaka that national dialogue process must be inclusive regardless of who chairs it.

The FODEP executive director insists that an inclusive national dialogue is essential to consolidating Zambia’s good governance and no interest group must   be sidelined.

And Mr. Chimfwembe has reminded the church that effective national dialogue prior to 2016 presidential, parliamentary and general elections flopped due to poor coordination of civic and political stakeholders.
