Tayali accuses church mother bodies of betrayal

Economic and Equity Party (EEP) president Chilufya has charged that the decision by the Church to hijack the national dialogue process is an act of betrayal against political parties.

Mr Tayali has since accused the church of having ulterior motives.

He says his party does not think it is right for the Church to takeover a process it was only invited to be part of.

He says in view of the Church’s decision to exclude the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) from the process, he doubts the summit of political party leaders will ever take place.

Mr. Tayali tells QTV News that if the summit however takes place, he foresees the national dialogue process failing to achieve the intended objectives.

He says the EEP has also taken note that the major political parties, the ruling PF and opposition UPND, have been too egocentric with respect the holding of the summit.
