CEEC disburse close to k316 million to over 3000 companies

The citizens economic empowerment commission (CEEC) has disbursed close to k316 million to over 3000 companies for various projects in 2018.

CEEC Director General, Likando Mukumbuta tells q-news that the over 3,000 companies that have received the funds are dotted across all the ten provinces of the country in 52 districts.

Mr. Mukumbuta says the commission has put emphasis on funding women and youths, adding that 70 percent of the funds disbursed have gone to women and youths.

He says the commission’s aim is to help create over 150,000 new jobs through various funded projects by 2021.

Mr. Mukumbuta says the supported funds are in the agriculture sector, the livestock sector, and the manufacturing sector among others.
