BuyZed regrets ban on exports of Zambian honey in SA

The BuyZed Campaign has described as regrettable the imposition of a ban on exports of Zambian honey in South Africa.

Founder Evans Ngoma says his organization also finds the ban to be a big setback especially for Zambian exporters who may had orders already on the way to South Africa.

Mr. Ngoma says the ban is however a wake-up call on the need to learn to protect and appreciate local products.

In a walk-in interview with QTV News Mr. Ngoma has also urged local enterprises in the export business to ensure that their products are certified.

Mr. Ngoma is encouraging local enterprises to make use of the services the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) is mandated to offer.

And BuyZed Campaign events manager James Banda has encouraged Zambians to take pride in their own locally produced products.

Mr. Banda is urging people in the Country to support locally produced products by going to the shops and buying them.
