Zambia is facing an economic doldrums – Chanda

United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) president, Charles Chanda says Zambia is facing an economic doldrums as undocumented economic activities overshadow documented activities.

Mr Chanda has told Q-news that government does not seem to know where the huge tax resource is supposed to come from.

He notes that the country does not have economic managers but debt managers who are gifted in looking for loans and preparing memorandum of understandings.

Mr Chanda is appealing to the Bank of Zambia to take full charge of the economy as a major player in the country’s economic development.

He laments that over 52-years after Zambia’s independence the Zambia Revenue Authority is still moving door to door in order to collect tax.

Mr Chanda has also noted the need to exercise fiscal discipline as a country in order to help change the current state of Zambia’s economy.
