Govt commends Toyota Zambia,World Vision

Government has commended World Vision Zambia and Toyota Zambia for partnering with it in helping develop the education sector in the country.

Speaking he officiate at the handover of a K315,340 cheque by Toyota Zambia to World Vision meant for the rehabilitation of Milando primary school in Mungwi district , ministry of general education permanent secretary Henry Tukombe says the gesture by Toyota Zambia signifies the importance of public private partnership that government is promoting to accelerate development in the country.

Mr Tukombe says government is aware of the challenges Milando primary school is facing, but that because of limited resources that have to be shared equitably throughout the country, it is only able to do a few things.

He has promised to send more teachers to the school once rehabilitation works have been completed.

Mr Tukombe said this in a speech read for him by ministry of general education Director Teacher education and specialized services, Dr Chikombole Chilekwa.

Speaking when he handed over the cheque, Toyota Zambia customer relations manager, Rodgers Ndakala said Toyota Zambia will continue to support the Zambian government and its partners in implementing programmes in the area of health, education and safety in order to improve the quality of life for citizens.

And World Vision Southern African regional leader, Mark Kelly has thanked Toyota Zambia for making the opportunity possible for nearly 500 pupils at Milando primary school.
