Zambia must sustain Democracy – Masheke

Former Prime Minister under the UNIP government Malimba Masheke has observed the need for Zambians to support governance that retains the Country’s democracy.

General Masheke says Zambia must sustain a government of the people, by people and for the people.

In an interview with QTV News via telephone General Masheke says contributions of all players towards sustaining democracy in the Country should be recognized regardless of their political affiliation.

General Masheke who is also retired Zambia Army commander believes that it does not matter whether a Country is a one party or multiparty state,  others must be given opportunity to play their part.

He says this is what Zambia has always been as a nation.

General Masheke however notes that a political that is at one time in government should, on the other hand, keep in mind that if it does not satisfy the people, it can be put aside in preference for another.
